The Acquisition of Erudition - Book XII: ‘Atlas Of The Heart’ by Brene' Brown

What is the fabric & foundation of meaningful connections? Social connectivity is the saving grace of society. Without community, what do we as social entities possess?

Brene Brown explores the elements that carefully coalesce to create complex, profound, and organic social bonds. It’s a given that we as individuals must honor the differences in opinion betwixt ourselves & individuals in our network. When we do so, we open the door to more nuanced & enlightening communications.

Ideally, individuals should see conflicting views as neither wrong nor right. We ought to perceive our opinions as two sides of the same coin. In this way, they will garner the most sterling of insights.

Brene Brown identifies these mindsets as ‘or’ & ‘and’ thinking. The unenlightened heart perceives A “or” B to be right “or” wrong. We must glean the verity of both A “and” B. The truth value gleaned in one person’s opinion does not detract from the pearlescence of the other. We can all agree to disagree & simultaneously be correct in some way, shape, or form.

The formosity in communal cognition is transcendent. Without the capacity to see life from seemingly divergent perspectives, we’re rendered moot, null, & void. We must recognize that organicity in connection stems from mindful quality time with others.

Introspection within the Over-Soul, the seat of the soul, and the self is our most sacred space. Holistically, this communicative formula enables us to thrive while procuring the most from our social network.

Mapping out the heart is a lifelong journey. Every moment upon the experiential cascade gives us a newfound vivacity & zeal for our efflorescence. If and only if we dedicate ourselves to the manifestation of integrity in our rapports, then the unfoldment of our pilgrimage will enlighten us, rejuvenate us, & will rekindle our hope for humanity.
